I'm with zamadatix and I'm also posting because I hear some pain.

Putting yourself out for hire is bloody hard and we all have to do it. I ditched my CV (Brit) about 24 years ago and am the MD of a small IT company but I still have to sell myself as well as my little company.

HN's "Who wants to be hired" threads are a pretty decent opportunity. You get eyes on your post from everywhere without it being that MS Linked In wankery. There are no algorithms here, your post goes up or down on old school forum voting. Also, the forum admin patrolling in these parts is rather more efficient than some. I gather that LI is rather important in the US (it isn't here, thankfully) so make the most of HN.

So, if you want to be hired, get that CV (resume) in tip top condition and make the best use of these threads.

I'm afraid I can't offer anything as exotic as Paris. My firm is in the south west of England, which is generally considered quite rural, except where it isn't.

I wish you all the best but please be your best you when presenting yourself in public (I think that makes sense!)
